A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to try out a new illustration style for some sample children’s book pages for a client. As I mentioned recently, coming from a cartooning background, my finished artwork typically includes outlines. But for this project, I wanted to go for something more illustrative. I’m quite pleased with the result. It was a lot of fun! It takes me back to the days when I was shelving books in the children’s section of a used bookstore. It was hard not to get sucked in to all of those incredible, vibrant illustrations.
