Once a year, I like to do an illustration of the covers of all the books I read that year. (Here are the book covers from 2014 and 2015.) I just started drawing 2016’s books. These are the first three I read last January.
Devil in the White City lived up to the hype, and Fiction Ruined My Family was compelling. But I flat-out loved Joe Hill’s Heart-Shaped Box. Equal parts raw and heartfelt and genuinely terrifying. Read it immediately if you haven’t already.
