The topic of today’s comic is something I’ve been thinking about a lot. The way it can be hard to judge whether you’ve gotten better at something when progress is such an uneven climb. If we’ve truly gotten better at something (and I mean anything—communication, cooking, exercise, drawing, putting on eyeliner), it seems only fair that we should then just be good at it, and never struggle with it again. But experience tells me that’s not the way it works. Progress does not equal perfection. And that’s fine, but (for now, anyway) it still sometimes keeps me up at night.
